Rebel Talk: Nine Lives

For the restless souls who wonder, "What else is out there?"
Why does a cat get nine lives? I want nine lives.
Sometimes when I’m behind the wheel, just cruising through the backroads or stuck in traffic, my mind drifts off to a world that doesn’t exist—but one I wish I could taste.
A life on a wide-open farm, the sun rising over dew-soaked fields, roosters crowing in the distance.
A life in another country—maybe Australia, maybe Croatia, maybe Zimbabwe—where the air smells different, the people speak in rhythms foreign to my ear, and everything is unfamiliar but somehow calling.
A life in a tight-knit neighborhood where the sound of bikes on pavement and screen doors slamming shut signals that the kids are safe, free, and exactly where they should be.
A life on a remote lake in northern Minnesota, quiet enough to hear my own thoughts echo back from the trees.
I think what I've realized is I don't necessarily want to live each of these lives, but rather:
I crave perspective.
I crave experience.
Not necessarily to own these lives… but to feel them.
To understand them.
To live them—if only for a season.
I wonder sometimes if I’m the only one who thinks this way.
The only one who looks around and thinks:
“There just isn’t enough time to do it all.”
I'm still figuring this out...
But maybe that’s where the fire inside me burns the hottest.
Because we don’t get nine lives.
We don’t get to hit pause on this one to try another for a while.
We get one shot. One wild, unpredictable, messy, glorious run at this thing called life.
And I refuse to spend it marching to a beat I didn’t choose.
That’s what it means to be a Relentless Rebel.
This world? It’ll hand you a blueprint:
Go to school. Get a job. Get married. Buy the house. Mow the lawn.
Clock in. Clock out. Retire quietly.
And here’s the kicker—it’ll make you believe it was your idea.
It’ll convince you that your cage is actually a comfort zone.
But what if you feel that itch too?
What if part of you knows there's more?
More ways to live.
More places to see.
More moments to feel fully alive.
You don’t have to live nine lives.
But you can live one… with intention.
You can rebel against the mundane.
You can say no to a script that doesn’t serve your soul.
You can build a life that’s not confined to comfort, but expanded by curiosity.
Because even if you never step foot in every dream you imagine, the fire that drives you to wonder… that’s the spark of something rare.
Don’t silence it.
Feed it.
And if the world tells you to fall in line?
Smile.
Tip your cap.
And go build a life so full, so daring, and so different…
They’ll swear you must’ve had nine lives to live it.
But you'll know the truth:
You just refused to waste the one you had.
Be Relentless. Be Curious. Be Alive.
Stay Relentless,
Ryan
