Rebel Talk: Candlelight Cadence

At Relentless Rebel, we live by the grind. We embrace the hustle, the grit, and the unwavering determination it takes to carve out the life we envision. We don’t shy away from long hours, from the sweat and sacrifice that success demands. We push forward, knowing that greatness isn’t handed out—it’s earned through blood, sweat, and relentless persistence.
But here’s something just as important as the grind: the pause.
The Relentless Rebel way of life isn’t just about working harder than everyone else. It’s about working with purpose, living with intention, and making sure that while we chase our dreams, we don’t forget to truly live. What’s the point of building something incredible if we don’t stop to appreciate it? If we don’t take a moment to share our time with the people who matter most?
Last night, my girlfriend and I did just that. We had both had a long week with the demands of life and some added stressors. We took a step away from the chaos and immersed ourselves in something completely different—a Candlelight Concert featuring The Best of Hans Zimmer. If you haven’t heard of Candlelight Concerts, I highly encourage you to check them out. It’s an intimate experience where music comes alive in a way that feels like time itself has slowed down. Sitting in that dimly lit historic church, surrounded by flickering candles and the powerful swell of the musicians, it was like the rest of the world disappeared. The stress, the responsibilities, the constant push forward—all of it faded into the background, if only for a little while. It was the kind of experience where you could close your eyes, or just stare, and no one else was there, it was nothing but the sweet serenity of a feeling deep inside or peace and harmony.
And that’s the key. You don’t have to book an extravagant getaway or plan some elaborate event to take a break. Sometimes, it’s as simple as an evening out doing something different, and a deep conversation over dinner. It’s about unplugging for a moment, letting go of the weight you carry, and allowing yourself to recharge. Because if you never pause, if you never step back to take in the bigger picture, you risk burning out before you ever reach the peak you’re climbing toward.
This isn’t about slacking off. This is about sustainability. It’s about recognizing that to truly give your all—to your dreams, your ambitions, your family—you need to take care of yourself. You need to nurture the relationships that support you and feed your soul. You need to remind yourself why you’re grinding so hard in the first place.
The Relentless Rebel way isn’t just about working—it’s about living. It’s about building something meaningful, both in business and in life. And part of that means knowing when to push forward and when to step back, take a breath, and simply be present.
So, if you’ve been running on empty, consider this your reminder to take a break—not out of weakness, but out of strength. Book that date night. Take that road trip. Sit by the fire with someone who matters. Lose yourself in music.
Because in the grand symphony of life, the pauses—the candlelight cadences—are what make this all truly beautiful.
Stay Relentless,
Ryan
